Information Regarding Adoptions

Meet Rocky

Rocky is a 2-year-old Leonberger who was forfeited to Toronto Animal Welfare Services in December 2023 because his owner failed to comply with an order for vet care.  He was severely underweight at the time he came into the system and has been slowly putting on weight ever since.

Rocky is very sweet natured and great with people and kids, but lacks impulse control, largely because we suspect he was never taught this as a puppy.  While he has some understanding of basic obedience, he has had no formal training and often doesn’t understand what is being asked of him. He can be reactive towards other dogs when walking on leash and will require an experienced adult home with someone who is patient and gentle to help him learn to navigate the world around him.

Rocky is currently being cared for at a boarding kennel in Oro-Medonte, Ontario located approximately 1 hour north of Toronto and 10 minutes north of Barrie.

If you are interested in adopting Rocky please download and complete an adoption application and/or contact his case worker, Glenna Stephens, at info@LeoRescueCanada.com
